What To Expect From URL's "Born Legacy 4"

URL returns to the small room with some big battles.

URL makes its return to the small room today (January 28) with another iteration of its Born Legacy series with "Born Legacy 4." While Born Legacy in the past has generally been an event designed to showcase some of the most promising up-and-comers to the URL stage, many of the battlers appearing on BL4 are those making their returns to the stage after long hiatuses. Of course, the talented up and comers are still there, with Mike P, Glueazy, Franchise, Brooklyn Carter and Nu Jerzey Twork (among others) all appearing.

Unfortunately, due to the passing of  Ave's sister, the battle with O-Red had to be postponed. We here at BattleRap.com wish Ave and his family our sincerest condolences. Beasley said in the update below that they would attempt to reschedule the battle.

Though the news of the cancellation is without question disappointing, URL has still put together a solid card and there are a range of other strong battles.

In what will likely become the new main event, we see the long-awaited return of Jaz The Rapper to the URL stage, taking on E Hart, who is also making her return. After a somewhat tumultuous year for female battle rap, this high-profile pairing is a good way to start 2017.For E Hart, this will be her first battle in over a year, and as one of the most respected emcees in female battle rap, the time off should allow her to be at her most polished.

Meanwhile, Jaz has a lot of pressure behind her with this battle. Her last outing was one that many felt she lost pretty clearly to O'fficial. A strong showing in this battle will do much to silence her detractors, while another loss would only embolden them.

In addition to Jaz and E Hart, Bill Collector will also be returning to the URL stage. Bill's career has had some ups and downs in the recent past, and some public differences of opinion with URL meant he's only battled once for the league since facing Shotgun Suge in 2013. Despite this, he was one of the most exciting names on URL for a reason, and when he is on, he's one of the most electrifying battlers in the world.

There will be two debuts on this event, with Franchise making his URL debut, and Money Bagz making his official URL debut. (He has one battle uploaded to the channel, but it wasn't originally a URL battle). Both of these guys have put in considerable work outside of URL, and both have had very strong showings on KOTD in the past year, Franchise against A. Ward and Money Bagz against Pass. Both guys will be looking to make strong impressions in their debuts, and both have the talent to do so.

Two dark-horse battles to keep an eye on for this event are Mike P vs. Chef Trez and Glueazy vs. New Jerzy Twork. There's been a lot of trash talk from all four, and each of them has been building momentum with a string of strong showings, so they'll all be unofficially competing against each other to come out of the event with the most buzz.

BattleRap.com's Smart Alix caught up with Jimz for his predictions of the entire event, and you can check that out here.
