Everything You Missed At "Virus"

Recapping the weirdest battle rap event ever.

Amid all the chaos and controversy at "Virus" (which we're still looking into btw), there were some legitimately hilarious moments at the event, which went down on Oct. 30 in Los Angeles. Outside the venue thousands of costumed partiers paraded along Hollywood Boulevard's Walk Of Fame, unaware that just steps away, the strangest rap battle event probably hopefully ever was going down.

The event started late and there was some confusion over where it was actually happening. Fans had been told that a shuttle would pick them up to bring them to a Hollywood Hills mansion, but eventually it became apparent that the battles would take place at the meet-up spot, a spacious art gallery behind a clothing store.

Fans and battlers alike dressed up to varying degrees of effort, joking around as they waited for things to get started. Fatlip from The Pharcyde was one of the first people there, dressed as Smack White.

The first match-up of the night was Bill Collector vs. A-Class in a one-round concept battle based around the famous Game Of Death fight scene. Bill opened up the night and set the bar high with an energetic and fluid performance.

We got post-battle interviews with both guys too.

Next up was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed battle, notable for being the modern-era debut of Copywrite, a rapper many battlers came up listening to. The footage has already dropped on Dizaster's channel, so check that out next.

Copywrite explained how he ended up on the card in our post-battle interview.

Jesus vs. Lucifer

Though Dirtbag Dan's robe-and-flip-flops Jesus was impressive, Megadef's Lucifer makeup stole the show. It was realistic enough to wonder if he's actually just wearing a Megadef costume 364 days of the year. The battle had some hilarious religious-themed punchlines and would've been perfect if not for Mega's third-round choke/freestyles.

Both guys stayed in character in our interview too.

Dizaster vs. Eminem

If you were expecting the real Eminem to show up, you were probably disappointed by this battle. And probably pretty dumb. Diz played the roll of Marshall Mathers, putting his impressive imitation skills to use again, nailing the voice, mannerisms and entourage, but not really saying much worth quoting. Playing the role of Dizaster was an emcee who goes by the name Moetown, who got himself discovered rapping to whoever would listen at Dizaster's last house party event.

Caitlyn Jenner vs. Bruce Jenner

Another interesting battle, and probably the one with the most viral potential out of all of them. Rone's Bruce Jenner mask was incredibly realistic (... wait, what?) and his takedown of Caitlyn and the whole Kardashian empire was typically incisive. NoShame's performance (recapped here) was much more personal and emotional.

End Of The Event

After the headline battle fell apart, there were arguments breaking out everywhere as venue staff tried to clear the room. Outside the event, a fight broke out between two women (the blonde from Caddy's entourage and a random fan who wasn't involved in the battle).

We tried to get as many post-event interviews as possible, but the scene was chaotic and Daylyt, Cadalack Ron and Lush One disappeared into the night before we could talk to them. We did speak briefly with Dizaster, Rone and Bill Collector to recap what happened.

Bill Collector also released some footage of the fight that captures the scene outside the venue.

Here are some more of our favorite photos from the event.
