Dizaster Speaks On KOTD Ban, "Favoritism" In Total Slaughter

"I’m not even gonna bad-mouth them but I feel like there was a lot of favoritism going on," Diz said of Total Slaughter.

In an interview from a few days before his heated press conference with Cassidy leading up to their battle, Dizaster spoke with Battle Rap Arena about being banned from King Of The Dot and the effect the decision has had on his upcoming battles. Diz also revisited the BOLA 5 drama, admitting that punching Math Hoffa almost ruined his Cassidy battle.

“We had this in the works before my Math battle,” Diz said of the Cassidy match-up. “When that shit happened they almost cut the whole shit down. But they understand. They probably thought the same way, ‘This dude is just a crazy-ass dude that’s trying to stunt or whatever.’ Then they realized, wait a minute, ‘If I was in his place I would have did the same shit.’ People are suddenly understanding. Organik and them, they all understand it too but they probably can’t be public about it. They can’t say that ‘cause they gon' look like they siding up with me. People make mistakes, sometimes you just get put in scenarios and if you go back you probably would change it. But, you know, you gotta just move on.”

While on the show Dizaster also detailed his experience on battle rap reality TV show "The Road To Total Slaughter," criticizing the brand for “favoritism” and for pushing him to the side.

“I was gonna be on the Total Slaughter event,” he said. “They told me like, ‘Yo, even though you lost to Day or whatever, you [were still] one of the best on the show. It was you, Day, and Rex basically.’ We were the best dudes on the show and we got the most feedback from all of them. So they wanted me to still be on it. When I took the Math battle they just went and set up them because it was too close. If you remember the Math battle was like a week before the Total Slaughter shit... Yeah, [Total Slaughter] was two weeks after. They pretty much didn’t book me on the card because of that. But I even tried to come out there, they didn’t even wanna bring me out. I don’t know what it was with Total Slaughter to be honest with you. I’m not even gonna bad-mouth them but I feel like there was a lot of favoritism going on. I don’t know if I got played but I just feel a little used.

“I just feel a little whatever man,” he added. “They kind of ‘corporated’ me to the side. Whatever. Fuck it, I ain’t even tripping. The only reason I went into it was ‘cause they told me I was Eminem’s favorite battler. That’s why I agreed to do it, ‘cause Royce [Da 5'9] called and told me that. They had to have Royce call me and convince me to do the shit. I end up doing it because they hyped me up like I was gonna meet Em or some shit.”

Reacting to a series of tweets posted by Organik where the KOTD league owner cast a negative light on recent corporate interests in battle rap, Dizaster said that the Fresh Coast Media Group and FilmOn partnership will benefit KOTD as well.

“That’s kind of the battle rapper in Organik being prideful and he’s just saying, ‘We’re the best,’” Diz said. “Just like Smack says, ‘We’re the most respected.’ I think he’s more just taking shots at Total Slaughter and other people that are trying to get involved. I think our situation, first of all, he’s gonna be involved in it. Not in my event but with the situation I’m involved in he’s gonna be benefiting off a lot of things. That’s one thing. Second of all he knows that if I wasn’t banned this battle would be on King Of The Dot. There’s no other thing to talk about.”

Opening up about his being banned by KOTD as well, Dizaster said the punch “wasn’t that serious.”

“Organik let the pressure get to him from all the people telling him, ‘You should ban Diz!’ Smack calling him like, ‘Ban Diz.’ Everybody saying, ‘If you don’t do it you’re fucked up and you set up Math.’ He didn’t know that that was all gonna blow over after a couple weeks. I was one of the dudes that knew that the whole time so I wasn’t tripping when everybody was flipping out. I knew everybody was gonna be cool after that. It wasn’t that serious. They tripped out and felt like they had to ban me. There’s no rule that you have to ban someone if they punch someone. Cool, if you get a punishment or a fine but you don’t have to ban me for life for doing some shit that wasn’t premeditated. He knows that now. There’s not an ounce in him that believes it was premeditated.”
