With Total Slaughter’s first chapter finished, headlining star Murda Mook sat down with VladTV to discuss the “Road To Total Slaughter” reality television series that aired on Fuse TV ahead of Total Slaughter. Speaking on the four-episode series, Murda Mook reveals he felt uncertain at the beginning of the show, but affirms it was “a real dope experience.”
“At the beginning it was like, ‘Are they gonna try and take what we built? Take out the rawness of it? How they gon’ do it?’ So we was a little skeptical of that but AK told me to do it, a couple of other people around me told me to do it and then we did it,” he says. “Surprisingly, it was a real dope experience, man. It wasn’t no ‘Bad Girls Club’ type of shit, it was real. Nothing was scripted like, ‘Yo, you gotta say this and you have to do this when he does this,’ it was just real, man. Put the cameras on, put niggas in the crib, put liquor around these niggas and whatever comes out, comes out.”
Murda Mook, who battle Loaded Lux at Total Slaughter on July 12 in New York, hopes the series will turn into a one-hour show next time around because the fans aren’t getting enough coverage.
“It was so much more shit though, in the crib, but I know for a half hour, the production and everything—people were like, ‘Why’s it not an hour?’ Like, you gotta crawl before you can walk, man,” he says. “You can’t be begging and then start being greedy. Let the ratings get up, let people support it, let people watch it … so it can build the awareness to where they wanna give second, third, fourth seasons and then they can be like, ‘Yo, we gotta make this shit an hour. We have to because people not getting enough, at all.’”
Finally, Murda Mook reveals he has a song that features all of the battlers from the house.
“I got a song with actually all of the battle rappers in the crib … It’s crazy,” he says. “[T-Rex] brought the equipment and we just was like, ‘Yo, let’s get this joint on a song,’ and everybody got on the record, except [Loaded] Lux. Lux ain’t get on the record. Lux is weird like that. Lux ain’t fuckin’ with us [laughs], but it’s cool, everybody else got on it.”
The song hasn’t been released yet, but in the meantime check out Murda Mook’s latest featuring Busta Rhymes:
