Mystro vs. B'Eric

DON'T SLEEP! Tight one-round battle between two Southern guys who go in.

Who: Mystro (Houston, Texas) vs. B'Eric Da Kidd (New Orleans, La.)
Where: Got Barz TV's "Pros vs. Joes 3" in New Orleans, La.
When: Oct 24, 2015

B'Eric is a familiar face to the New Orleans battle scene. Casually referred to as Mr. “Molded Dat Way” from the catchphrase he coined, B'Eric is often a supportive figure behind heavy-hitters like O’fficial and Boogie. Much like URL’s “Don Demarco” sound effect, you will often hear B'Eric's recognizable voice yelling “He molded dat way!” after the heaviest bars when he's in the building.

But let’s be clear. B'Eric is not simply a spectator in this sport, but one of the most outspoken and tenacious members of the Flatline crew. He made his debut in 2012 during “Night of the Goons 2” against Huned Grand and has been a mainstay in #SouthernBattleRap since.

Mystro is fairly new to the battle rap scene, but has put in a lot of work in that short time. He’s featured on cards from Iron Mouth Battle League, Battle Coliseum, Body Bag Battles, and is also a part of the ever-expanding Ammo Gang.

This battle is fire though. Both emcees came to play for keeps and left nothing on the table. The dynamic here is excellent, with a tenacious newcomer looking to earn his proper respect against the skill of an experienced veteran. Mystro was out of his comfort zone, yet showed resilience against the lack of reaction his bars received in the room. B'Eric was in rare form this battle and the crowd loved every minute of it. These two names aren’t as well-known as others from the Southern scene, but a few more performances like these will soon change that.

Pretty much every battle we post on the site is either notable or excellent, but occasionally we want to pay extra attention to footage that deserves more love than it's getting on YouTube. See all our "Don't Sleep!" battles here.
